The compass is more than a motif

The compass runs through everything we make, from the mark on our shirts to the rosette set into a finished floor. A medallion takes that idea and fixes it in concrete, hand-detailed at the heart of a space. It is the signature that tells you who built the surface underneath.

A new centrepiece is taking shape

A hand-laid star rosette is being set into a poolside courtyard right now. The full showcase, with process film and finished photography, follows once the surface is sealed.

Designed With Purpose

Laid out true to the site

A medallion is set, not dropped in. We align the cardinal points to the building, the approach or true north, then work the banding and joints out from the centre so the whole floor reads around it. Orientation is the difference between a pattern on the ground and a surface that feels resolved.

Methods

How the detail is made

Stamped & stencilled

Patterns pressed and masked into fresh concrete, then coloured in layers for depth and a hard-wearing, integral finish.

Hand-cut inlay

Lines scored and cut by hand for the crisp points and true geometry a compass rose or rosette needs at its centre.

03

Overlay & medallion

A bonded topping worked over sound existing concrete, so detail can be added to a surface without tearing it out.
