Concrete Grinding & Polished Concrete · Auckland & NZ

We understand concrete from the ground up.

Most grinding contractors arrive with a machine and start cutting. Artizen begins long before that, with earthworks, foundations, reinforcement, mix design and placement. The finest polished floors are decided on day one, not on the final pass.

The Artizen Approach

A design-led concrete specialist, not just a grinder.

Artizen Construction delivers polished concrete and mechanical grinding as part of a deeper understanding of concrete itself. Our background spans high-end residential, architectural and commercial projects where appearance, durability and attention to detail are non-negotiable.

We understand earthworks, foundations, reinforcement, mix design, placement, finishing methods, curing requirements, joint layouts, exposure expectations and long-term performance. That knowledge is what separates a floor that merely looks good on handover from one that performs and holds its finish for decades. Whether we deliver a complete concrete package or grind and polish a slab placed by others, the same standard applies.

Early Project Involvement

The best polished floors begin before the pour.

The quality of a polished concrete floor is largely determined before the concrete is even placed. Aggregate selection, mix design, slab flatness, curing and joint layout all shape what is possible at the polishing stage.

Artizen can be involved from design and planning through to placement, finishing, grinding and polishing. We work alongside architects, builders, engineers and homeowners to lock in the desired finish from day one, removing the guesswork and the costly compromises that surface when grinding is treated as an afterthought.

Polished concrete finishes

From a whisper of stone to a full reveal.

The amount of aggregate we expose is a design decision, controlled through grinding depth and polishing. From a clean cream finish through to a full terrazzo-like reveal, here is the range.

Nil aggregate exposure: a smooth cream polished concrete finish with no stone showing
01Nil exposure
Light aggregate exposure: fine sand and a scattering of small stone in polished concrete
02Light exposure
Medium aggregate exposure: more stone revealed across a salt-and-pepper polished surface
03Medium exposure
Full aggregate exposure: a dense terrazzo-like reveal of blue-grey stone and terracotta brick aggregate in polished concrete
04Full aggregate
How We Work

Complete concrete packages, or polishing alone.

Engage Artizen for the entire concrete scope, or simply for the grind and polish. Either way you get the same understanding of how the finish is achieved.

Knowledge & Equipment

Construction knowledge behind every pass.

Most grinding contractors arrive only for the polishing stage. We start much earlier, bringing genuine construction knowledge, decorative concrete expertise and specialist grinding equipment to every floor, so the result is superior and far more predictable.

That understanding shapes every decision, and so does the machine in our hands. We've invested in professional grinding, polishing and dust-extraction systems because every slab demands a different approach, with equipment matched to the floor, the exposure and the finish, never forced to fit a single method.
